by @BiglawInvestor @ Paycheck Direct Deposit into Vanguard Brokerage Account

I have a portion of my paycheck directly deposited into Vanguard. I used to have it set up via automatic transfer, but find this method much better… It allows me to “set” my own salary by deciding how much gets direct deposited into my bank account with the rest going to Vanguard. This is particularly helpful to me as my paycheck increases at various times during the year once I’ve maxed out my 401(k) and hit the social security income tax limit. Now all of that “extra” money goes right where it should.

The only downside is that I’m not aware of any way to have Vanguard automatically sweep the money into an investment account. Instead, everything lands in your settlement account and you have to go in manually and initiate a transfer to move it from the settlement account to an investment.
