Direct Deposit Issues for BBVA Compass Bank Customers
WHNT.com
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) -- Customers of BBVA Compass Bank had a frustrating morning. Some found that they had trouble accessing their online banking or receiving direct deposit funds on Friday. But it wasn't just a problem for the state of Alabama. According to the bank's Facebook page, branches in New Mexico, Texas, and Florida all experienced the same problems. Issues with the bank's direct deposit system caused funds in accounts such as payroll deposits and monthly social security payments not to show up when they were supposed to be posted. In addition to the chaos, the 1-800 number for the bank was tied up so it was difficult for customers to get answers. Around 2:00 p.m., the bank alerted customers on Facebook that direct deposits had successfully been posted to their accounts and the online banking system was back up and running smoothly.
